Monthly Theme Post: Grey!

The "grey" challenge for this month really left me thinking about things.  While boots and rings were topics I expected from Sophistique Noir, the blog that runs these monthly challenges, grey wasn't something that I assumed would pop up.  At least, I didn't think of it.  Now that the end of the month has reached us, I dug around my digital photo albums and finally came across something that made me happy ..

I have been posting a lot lately.  Why?  Since I have had a few spare minutes during the night this and next week (due to dreaded state-wide testing) and I decided to post some more.  Also, I got my butt around about editing more photos that I had back in the deep, deep untouched folders on my computer, so now I've got more edited photos.  Yay!

These photos are a little old.  It all started with a somewhat large, slate-colored T-shirt ..

 Some paint, and ta-da!

I like to pair this shirt with a black undershirt, due to the "peak-a-boos" that the sides offer.  I cut a line up from the sides, then slit some fringe-esque pieces from there, and then tied it together.  I'm sorry for the bad lighting in these photos -- flash on the camera apparently makes me look a bit tan o_0

To my own shock, I don't own a lot of grey items.  But I do own another slate-colored shirt, in the same style as this purple shirt from a previous post:

As you can tell, I really like the slate color on clothing!

Of course, I also have grey sweat pants, but those aren't very glamorous ..

Fantastic job on the shirt! You truly transformed it into a Goth masterpiece. Thank you so much for sharing this project for the gray theme!! I'll try to go with something more predictable next time. ;)

Thank you guys! This is probably the first DIY that I seriously felt committed and proud about. You only have a blank slate once, when it comes to shirts, so big mistakes are rather bad to the design. Glad to know you liked it :-)
